Eyelash extension allows you to achieve the desired shape, length and curl effect of hairs for a long time, which saves time for daily makeup and its removal in the evening. Extended eyelashes look more aesthetic and natural than false eyelashes.

Eyelash extension techniques and technologies

• Japanese (eyelash) – consists in fixing each artificial eyelash to the client's natural eyelash using a special glue. Such eyelashes look the most natural, because the places of attachment of artificial eyelashes are not visible, and less often need correction, since the loss of one natural eyelash does not lead to a loss of a bunch of extended eyelashes. For hairs, natural mink or sable fur, silk is used. The shortest hairs are attached to the eyelashes at the inner corner of the eye, gradually increasing their length towards the outer corner. Hair made from natural materials does not tolerate moisture and heat well.

  

• American – lash extension technique, similar to Japanese, but using synthetic hairs: silicone or rubber. Synthetic hairs are not afraid of contact with water and sudden changes in temperature.
• Indonesian – consists in lash-by-lash extension of hairs on a special glue containing vitamin complexes to strengthen natural lashes.
• Volumetric technology – creating volume of eyelashes (2D-5D), which is achieved by attaching mini-bundles of 2 to 5 eyelashes to each natural eyelash. The absence of the "false eyelash" effect is achieved by using hairs 0.07 mm thick.
• Beam extension – a fast extension method in which not single cilia are attached, but small bundles. The disadvantages of the method are unnatural appearance and short-lived effect.

Extension types

• Building up corners – consists in fixing artificial hairs from the outer corner of the eye to the middle of the ciliary edge. If the client's eyelashes are naturally light, they need to be painted before the procedure, since it is impossible to use mascara after extension.
• Incomplete extension – allows you to add volume to long and thin eyelashes. For this, hairs are attached that have the same length as the client's natural eyelashes. The hairs are fixed at a short distance.
• Full extension – an increase in the volume and length of the eyelashes along the entire eyelash edge. When using the technique of eyelash extension using high-quality materials and the correct technique, its effect lasts up to 2-3 months.
• Extension in 2 rows (3D) – allows you to make a bright accent on the eyes. Achieved by lash extension with 2 artificial hairs attached to 1 natural lash.

Types of bends

• J - inconspicuous – the bend is present only in the lower, attached part of the eyelashes.Outwardly, it looks like a slight, natural curl of the eyelashes.
• B - insignificant – also mimics the natural curl of lashes, but is slightly more pronounced than straight. Suitable for almond shaped eyes.
• C - medium – gives the effect of curling eyelashes, allows you to make your eyes open. Suitable for girls who use curling mascara and tongs.
• D (SS) - medium – used for deep-set eyes, drooping of the upper eyelid, and eyelashes that grow downward. Corrects minor imperfections in appearance.
• M - significant – due to the bending, the length and volume of the eyelashes is additionally increased. Allows you to correct the overall appearance of eyelashes with lowered growth of natural hairs.
• U - very strong – gives the effect of "doll eyelashes". Suitable for evening make-up, for girls who use eye shadow in everyday life. Not suitable for the convex shape of the eyes and for girls over 35 years old.
• L - very strong – suitable for oriental eyes and deep-set eyes, as well as girls who wear glasses.
• L+ - very strong – smoother than L. Provides an open-eyed effect, suitable for overhanging eyelids. It looks smooth and natural.

Hair length and thickness

• Building materials:

• Mink wool (0.1-0.12 mm) - fine and light hairs that look like natural eyelashes.
  • Sable wool (0.1-0.25 mm) - thicker hairs that give the effect of mascara. They make the look heavier, differ in a short wear. Suitable for festive events.
  • Silk (0.07-0.2 mm) - the finest and lightest hairs. Provides volume and length to lashes without weighing them down. Suitable for daily wear, but does not tolerate high temperatures and constant contact with moisture. Thick silk lashes have a smooth glossy texture.
  • Synthetic (silicone or rubber) - practical, not afraid of contact with water. Harder than natural materials. Suitable for creating a theatrical effect, for creating a festive look.
• Eyelash thickness:
  • 0.1 mm - create a natural look for eyelashes. They are suitable for everyday wear, do not make your eyes look heavy, and last for a long time.
  • 0.15 mm - give the effect of natural mascara dyed eyelashes. They are characterized by medium wear resistance.
  • 0.2 mm - thick and coarse hairs that are used to create evening looks. Not recommended for everyday wear.
  • 0.25 mm - give the effect of "false eyelashes". The service life is short due to the large weight of the hairs. Suitable for festive events.

Eyelash Extension Effects

• Natural - used to make eyelashes look fuller but natural. For extension, use hairs 6-10 mm long, but no longer than natural eyelashes by 2 mm. Suitable for almond-shaped eyes.
• Fox - implies a gradual increase in the length of the hairs to the outer corner of the eyes. Suitable for round eyes, for close-set eyes.
• Squirrel effect - emphasizes almond and convex eyes. The accent of the length goes to the outer corners of the eyes, making the eye cut more oblique.
• Radiant (rarefied) - use of alternately short bristles corresponding to natural length with long eyelashes. The result is the effect of "wet" eyelashes - length without weighting with volume.
• Puppet effect - not applicable for everyday wear. Long hairs (12-16mm) with a pronounced curl are used. The length of the artificial hairs is the same along the entire ciliary margin.
• Cocktail - suitable for photo shoots and performances. Along with black hairs, colored eyelashes are added for extension along the entire growth line or in the outer corner of the eye.
• Millennium - for photo shoots and performances. They use not only long and colored eyelashes, but also rhinestones, feathers and other decorative elements.

  

Fixing material

• Rubber glue - chemically treated rubber.Rarely causes allergies, fixes eyelashes reliably, inexpensive. Most often it is made in black.
• Latex adhesive - it is used for beam building, and contains rubber powder. Freezes for a long time, as it is very viscous. May cause allergies. Suitable for fixing natural and artificial hairs.

  

• Silicone glue - transparent, hypoallergenic and durable. Not afraid of water and high temperatures. Suitable only for beam extensions.
• Resinous glue - consists of wood resin, gives a strong hold, water resistant. Suitable for eyelash extensions and natural and synthetic materials. May cause allergies.
• Combined - adhesives containing resins and latex (Dolce Vita Ultra Super Bonding).
• Modified - chemically improved silicone adhesives or supplemented with a vitamin complex.

How does eyelash extension work?

1. The skin around the eyes gets rid of makeup. The eyelashes are wiped with a degreasing compound.
2. The material for building and the technology is selected to obtain the desired result.
3. The upper eyelashes are separated from the lower eyelashes using special stickers.
4. With tweezers, the base of each artificial hair is dipped in special glue and fixed on the natural eyelash at the line of its growth.
5. If necessary, the master removes excess glue from the eyelashes.

How long does eyelash extension last

The time for eyelash extension depends on the technique used, the material, the experience of the master and the type of extension:

• Bundle extension - takes up to half an hour.
• Eyelash extension - takes 1.5-2.5 hours. The duration depends on:
  • The glue used. Thick resin adhesives can cure up to 5 minutes, while synthetic polymers take 30-90 seconds;
  • Density of natural eyelashes. Lash extension on thick lashes will take longer;
  • Full or incomplete extension - the extension of the corners will be 2 times faster than full;
  • Extension in one or two rows - the more volume you need to add to the lashes, the more hairs you need to attach, and more time will be spent.
  • Expert experience - experienced craftsmen fix the eyelashes faster and give them the correct shape and position.

How long does eyelash extension last

The extended eyelashes are attached to the natural ones, so when the latter fall out, the glued hairs are also lost.

The time to wear the eyelash extensions depends on:

• Eyelash renewal rates. Eyelashes are completely renewed in 3-6 months.
• Strength of the glue and adherence to the extension technology - extension adhesives give fixation from 1 to 3 months.
• Thickness and length of artificial eyelashes - the thicker, longer and heavier the eyelashes - the faster they will provoke the loss of the natural hair to which they are attached.

The effect of the extension can last up to 1.5-2 months, but after 2-3 weeks it is necessary to correct the eyelashes.

You can enhance the growth of eyelashes by caring for the skin of the eyelids and the follicles themselves:

• If, while wearing eyelashes, the client notes the loss of more than 5-7 hairs per day, a trichologist consultation is needed.
• Vitamin supplement: after make-up remover in the evening, apply an oil solution of a mixture of vitamins A and E to clean eyelashes, blotting the excess with a cotton pad. It is possible to prepare an oil solution from castor oil mixed with 1-2 capsules of Aevit vitamins - but then it is important to avoid getting the oil mixture in the eyes.
• The oil solution can be used as a mask for eyelids and eyelashes 1-2 times a week. To do this, warm the oil to body temperature (36-38 degrees) and apply a thin layer on a cotton swab on the eyelids for 40 minutes.
• Mask with aloe juice. In equal proportions, you need to mix aloe juice, burdock oil and castor oil, and add 3 drops of vitamin E. This mixture is applied to clean eyelid skin for 30 minutes. You can do this mask 1-2 times a week.
• Self-massage of the skin of the eyelids. With light, delicate movements, you can massage the eyelids: the lower one from the outer corner to the inner corner, and the upper one in the opposite direction. It is best to combine the massage with an eyelid mask - this way the skin will receive more nutrients. • Enrich the diet with vitamins A and E... It is useful to eat fatty fish, liver, egg yolks, any nuts, seeds, flax seeds, sweet potatoes, red vegetables and fruits (carrots, tomatoes, beets, paprika, pumpkin), drink rosehip tea, add red pepper to food. Vegetables must be eaten in the form of a salad - raw and with vegetable oil or sour cream.

Contraindications to eyelash extension

• allergy with symptomatic conjunctivitis;
• increased lacrimation;
• dacryocystitis;
• violation of the general somatic state: diseases of internal organs in the stage of sub- and decompensation, blood diseases during an exacerbation, exacerbation of chronic inflammatory diseases, pregnancy, diabetes mellitus and other metabolic disorders in the stage of sub- and decompensation.
