Fillers for the face. What is it in cosmetology, which is better, photos before, after the procedure

In cosmetology, new helpers have appeared in the struggle for young and beautiful skin - fillers. These injections can solve many cosmetic problems, there are different types, therefore, they are selected strictly according to individual indicators.

What are face fillers, their effect on the skin

Fillers for the face are non-toxic cosmetic products that are injected under the skin at different depths and temporarily smooth (the action can last more than a year) fine and deep wrinkles, folds, acne scars. The name comes from the English word "fill" meaning "fill, fill".

Fillers can also fill sunken, drooping areas on the face (as well as on the back of the hands). They are used to "add volume" by rounding and tightening the cheeks, chin, cheekbones and temples, filling thin lips and emphasizing their shape.

Fillers fill in cavities, wrinkles and folds about 30 minutes after injections, and the result remains visible on the face for 4 months to a year or more.

Here are the main areas of the face where fillers are most effective:

  • folds (wrinkles) from nose to mouth (nasolabial folds);
  • folds from the mouth to the chin;
  • wrinkles above the upper lip;
  • wrinkles between the eyebrows (appearing from a frown);
  • lips (to add volume and better shape);
  • restoration of the volume of the cheekbones, chin and cheeks, changing their shapes;
  • in some situations, the area under the eyes;
  • acne scars;
  • wrinkles in the outer corners of the eyes.

In addition to fillers injected into the skin, conventional filler creams and instant filler creams have been developed.

Facial fillers are so effective on the skin that a person can look much younger than their age. It also helps to get rid of many psychological problems.

Are face fillers harmful: indications and contraindications for use

Experts recommend that you take a responsible approach to choosing the type of filler for your face and strictly follow certain rules before and after injections.

A properly selected face filler will heal the skin and help restore freshness and elasticity to it, without causing complications.

It is important to remember not to use injectable facial fillers when pregnant or breastfeeding. Such injections are not allowedsince fillers have not been tested for safety during these periods of a woman's life.

If there were cases of herpes in the lip area, then injections can provoke an outbreak of this disease. The necessary medicines must be purchased in advance.

Almost all injectable anti-wrinkle and anti-wrinkle fillers can cause negative side effects of varying severity:

  • there is a risk of an allergic reaction;
  • Facial fillers can form nodules or tiny bumps under the skin, which in rare cases requires surgery (and in some cases, these bumps may remain forever);
  • Sometimes there is a discoloration of the skin, known as the Tyndall effect: the skin becomes bluish, and this discoloration can persist for several months;
  • in very rare cases, violations during the filler injection procedure can lead to the death of skin cells;
  • several cases of blindness and nerve palsy have also been reported;
  • people with hemophilia should be extremely careful and consult a specialist;
  • redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site.

To reduce the risk of bruising and swelling, you should refrain from:

  • taking aspirin and other blood thinners a week before injections and within two days after injections;
  • taking vitamin E 2-3 days before and after injections;
  • exercise (other than walking) within 24 hours after the injection procedure.

In general, longer-acting fillers have a higher likelihood of negative side effects.

What are face fillers?

The funds under consideration differ in composition, there may be bases on synthetic components, on collagen, fat, hyaluronic acid.

Synthetic fillers

This category includes a series of fillers made in a laboratory that are substances other than those found in human skin.

The advantage of synthetic fillers is a long-lasting result, since they do not decompose in the body, but remain there almost forever.

Side effects can be: redness, swelling and bruising at the injection site, nodules or bumps under the skin, which in rare cases require surgery. Unfortunately, this category of fillers is not always compatible with the surrounding tissue of the body and there may be complications.

Collagen based fillers

Scientists have created the first fillers from a purified form of collagen, obtained mainly from cows. Despite the fact that these fillers gave a good result that looked natural, they had a significant drawback - the effect of rejuvenation did not last long.

Basically, the result of the injections lasted no more than one month. Since collagen fillers are of animal origin, they can cause allergic reactions and require prior allergy testing. Side effects, in addition to allergic reactions, also include redness and bruising at the injection site.

But new ways of processing collagen have helped reduce the risks associated with allergic reactions. What's more, new forms of synthetic collagen make injections safer and more effective for a wider range of people. Although the effect is short-lived, many believe it looks more natural on the outside when compared to other filler categories.

Autologous fillers

Fat is the most commonly used filler in this category. A person's own fat, located on the thighs, abdomen or buttocks, is an injection material.

The fat is surgically removed, processed and then injected as a filler... Both procedures (selection and injection) can be done in one visit. Additional fat purification in the laboratory can be costly and time consuming. The results of fat injections tend to remain unchanged for a very long time.

Platelet-rich plasma injections (called "Vampire facelift") Is another common autologous method. Blood is taken from the hand, processed, and then injected on the face. The effect can last from a year to one and a half years.

The risks of using this type of filler are bruising, redness and swelling at the injection site.

Fillers based on hyaluronic acid

Many consumers know what hyaluronic acid face fillers are as they are the most popular.

Hyaluric acid is a natural sucrose that can be found in the skin and has a lubricating effect on joints. It has the function of absorbing water, supplying nutrients and acting as a shock-absorbing substance.

Therefore, when acid is injected under the skin, it behaves like a sponge and expands, while filling in wrinkles and folds, as well as supporting sunken, sunken areas. Additional moisture attracted to the surface of the skin gives it freshness and radiance, making it supple and soft.

These injections stimulate the abundant production of collagen, which contributes to further tightening of the skin and the disappearance of wrinkles.

Side effects are rare and include redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site. Filler can also appear as small subcutaneous lumps, which often disappear over time.

The result lasts from several months to a year or even two years.

An overview of effective fillers

Cosmetologists usually use only proven brands of fillers, so the most popular are: RESTYLANE, JUVEDERM, SURGIDERM, RADIESS and Perline.

Restylane (RESTYLANE)

This filler is a sterile gel, created in the laboratory, containing cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin.

Fillers for the face. What is it in cosmetology, which is better, photos before, after the procedure

It contains no human or animal DNA and is highly safe. "Rektyline ”has proven itself to be effective in injections against nasolabial folds and other unwanted skin changes.

The results are visible immediately after the injections, but it may take several days for the final look to form, which is much better after just one to two days.

Depending on the treated area of the face, skin type and injection technique, the results may last 4-6 months.

For injections in the nasolabial area, you will need the contents of 1-2 syringes. The procedure is quite costly.

"Perline"

This filler is based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Compared to other fillers based on the same component, Perline has a higher density and higher molecular weight.

Perline is intended to be inserted into the deep layers of the skin to correct deep wrinkles and folds.

It is best to apply Perline on areas of the face where a thicker filler is required, such as in the area of the nasolabial folds or for adding volume to the cheeks.

It is important to know that you should not inject Perline into the lips, as its thick consistency can cause lumps to form.

Perline remains in the skin for 6 months - 1 year or more, depending on the natural activity of the body when the filler breaks down. Experts recommend having a maintenance injection every year. Over time, smaller doses of filler are required and the body produces enough collagen.

"Juvederm" (JUVEDERM)

What Juvederm face fillers are, is heard not only by cosmetologists, but also by ordinary people.

Juvederm

A series of fillers Juvederm was created in the laboratory on the basis of hyaluronic acid. Fillers of this series have different target areas:

  • deep injections into the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss;
  • injections to fill medium to deep wrinkles and folds;
  • injections into the lips and perioral area, to increase the volume of the lips and correct their shape.

It is important to knowthat the products of this series are not used if there is a history of severe allergic reactions or there is an allergy to lidocaine and the protein of gram-positive bacteria used in Juvederm fillers.

"Surzhiderm" (SURGIDERM)

The latest achievements of aesthetic medicine are embodied in the Surzhiderm filler series.The production of this series (manufactured by Allergan, USA) is based on the so-called 3D matrix technology using hyaluronic acid.

Surzhiderm

At its core, Surzhiderm is a stabilized, artificially cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Produced by bacterial fermentation from streptococcal bacteria.

An innovative manufacturing technique makes it possible to create the most flexible and perfect fillers based on hyaluronic acid. They naturally take root, are perfectly compatible with the surrounding tissue of the face and are not rejected by it. As a result, allergic reactions are excluded and there is no need to do a preliminary test.

Different fillers in this series have different tasks:

  • elimination of small wrinkles;
  • elimination of deep wrinkles and folds;
  • increasing the volume of the lips and improving their shape;
  • changing the contour of the face, the shape of the nose, cheekbones and chin, etc.

"Radies" (RADIESS)

Radies

Calcium hydroxyapatite (essentially a constituent of bones and cartilage) in an injectable creamy form.

It is assumed that the cosmetic effect when using this filler should last longer than when using fillers based on hyaluronic acid, but this is often not confirmed in practice. Radies is thicker than hyaluronic acid and can be more effective where additional volume is needed.

There is a tendency to complications in the form of subcutaneous irregularities. However, it may be the best option in certain situations.

Contour plasty - facelift with fillers: features of the procedure, its results

A facelift with fillers is a gentle method of correcting the shape of the face, cheekbones and lips, as well as removing wrinkles by injecting fillers mainly based on hyaluronic acid. In addition, this procedure stimulates the growth of new skin cells and their regeneration.

An experienced cosmetologist can answer the question of what fillers are.

15-20 years ago, a facelift could only be done with the help of plastic surgeons, they did not know what face fillers are. Nowadays, the facelift is very popular with fillers.

This procedure has several advantages over plastic surgery. A facelift does not take long and there is no need to put off important tasks. On the same day, you can return to your duties. After this procedure, there is no need for a recovery period with serious restrictions. You just need to adhere to some simple rules for some time.

The main disadvantage of lifting with fillers is the fragility of the results achieved - a maximum of 1-2 years... Unfortunately, the fillers dissolve and the skin returns to its previous state. But research continues, the composition of fillers improves, innovative formulas are introduced, and scientists' predictions are optimistic.

The filler injection procedure itself is quick and easy if it is carried out by professionals in medical institutions specializing in this field.

A gel filler is injected with syringes into different layers of the skin. This method is low traumatic and takes about half an hour. As a rule, new generation fillers contain the pain relieving lidocaine, and no additional manipulations with anesthesia are required.

A positive result is seen immediately after the procedure, but possible redness and some swelling at the injection sites do not give a full picture of the improvement in skin condition. As a rule, a completely renewed face can be seen only after a few days.

Face filler creams: an alternative to salon treatments

Consumers know what injectable face fillers are. There is a huge selection of injectable fillers that are highly effective. But not everyone has the opportunity to take advantage of the expensive services of salons that offer a wide variety of these anti-aging products.

Fortunately, there are excellent alternatives in the form of filler creams that are commercially available and can be applied on their own just like traditional creams. They are less effective, but can significantly help in the fight against wrinkles. Their regular use smoothes wrinkles and improves facial contours.

Also, consumers have appreciated the convenience of using these face fillers, which act briefly and instantly, which makes everyday life easier. They are applied under makeup, filling in wrinkles and making the face look younger.

    I would like to share my impressions of the lip augmentation filler (Surzhiderm). I chose it on the recommendation of a cosmetologist, but something went wrong, and a subcutaneous lump formed on the lips. I turned to another specialist. He reassured me and recommended to wait a little, since Surzhiderm is very plastic and the lump will disappear. It has dissipated and I am very pleased with the result.

    I put on Matis Reponse Corrective Instant Filler in the morning and feel great all day long. The face looks absolutely natural, much younger and fresher. Of course, I have to apply filler cream every day, but it's cheaper and safer than injectable fillers and I look great as a result.
